Read more...The Boca Grande Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Membership Meeting at the chamber office on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 5:30 p.m.

The event will be catered by Sisters Restaurant and will be free to chamber members. Festivities will take place on the porch between Sisters and the chamber office.

The short agenda will include the introduction of new board members and officers, and a calendar of chamber events planned for 2012.

The convertible, which can be seen in front of the Clinic Annex on Park Avenue on most days, is the perfect size for zipping around the island. With the top down, you could enjoy the breeze and the Florida sunshine as you travel from home to the beach, or head downtown to grab a bite to eat or shop.

Known for his British humor, energy, and creative personal touch, he has won several Garden Globe awards for his TV work, as well as the “Gold Award for the Best Talent on Air.”

Read more...The Adult Day Respite program is nearing six months and is fully operational. Applications are being accepted for participants to enroll in the program.

The program is designed for persons with early to mid-stage memory loss from Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. The Boca Grande Health Clinic is sponsoring the program, which began in July.

Sessions are held for participants on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The program is located in the D.L. Moody Fellowship Hall at the First Baptist Church of Boca Grande, 421 4th St.

Family members or caregivers of interested participants should contact Evelyn Darna at the Boca Grande Health Clinic, 964-2276, to apply for the program.
